LVBR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization and therefor all donations are tax-deductible. We are an all volunteer group—no paid employees. Every donation is greatly appreciated!

Easy Online Donations

Donations can be be sent directly to LVBR using PayPal. Paypal online donations are a safe and easy way to send money through the internet. You do not have to have a Paypal account to donate.

Used Vehicles

LVBR accepts used car, truck, motorcycle, or boat donations. We do all the paperwork and you get a great tax deduction. To reap the highest amount, we will sell them ourselves—not turn them over to a broker. If you have any questions or have a vehicle to donate, please email delaneyrescue@gmail.com.

Donating Goods

Here are just a few suggestions for items frequently in short supply:

• Collars and leashes;
• Crates, kennels, or x-pens (new or used);
• Dog toys and beds;
• Towels, blankets, quilts (used items are the softest and best!);
• Gift cards in any amount—to be used to buy food or supplies (Wal-Mart, Petsmart, etc.)

How Funds Are Used

One hundred percent of adoption fees and donations are used to pay medical costs and boarding/shelter fees for the Hounds. Administrative costs are absorbed by volunteers. Volunteers also provide the transporting of dogs, food and supplies for dogs in foster homes, grooming, etc., out of their own pockets. We appreciate our volunteers—all of whom devote a big part of their lives—and dollars—to help our Clients. The Bassets are our clients, we work for them.

The average cost of a dog while in rescue is approximately $500. Sometimes it’s less, many times it’s more. The dogs are provided what is needed to ensure they are as healthy as possible and ready for adoption. Spays/neuters, vaccines, fecal testing, blood work as needed—these are just a few of the basics provided. Dentals, surgeries for lumps and bumps, additional specialized blood work, x-rays, various medications, etc. are also often needed. The adoption fee rarely covers the investment LVBR makes to provide for each dog’s health care.
