Mandy: Think of Barry
Manilow's song "Mandy". Oh, Mandy, you came and you gave without
taking. But I sent you away. That's kind of what happened to
this lovely lass in her past life. Look in the eyes of this 5 year
old tri-color beauty. She's pleading with you... "Please take me
home and I'll love you unconditionally!" Put in the adoption
application if you'd like to meet Mandy. Her adoption fee will be
$150. LVBR wishes to thank Arica at
Pet'ographique for this
lovely portrait of Mandy. |

FOSTER
HOME NEEDED! |
|
 |
 |
| Megan
is a 2 yr. old tri-colored gal who came into rescue with
Muldoon, also 2 years old.
We would like to place them as a pair, if possible, as they
seem to be very sweet on each other. They both need a Foster Home
ASAP--either together or separately. More on Megan's personality
soon. |

Gigi is a Collie/Shep mix that
LVBR took under their wings after she was found
abandoned in the desert by a friend of the
rescue. Gigi is approx 3 years old. She's been
waiting for that Forever Home for quite awhile
now. Gigi's only glitch is that she has a fear
of men--but she's working hard to overcome that,
with the help of her Foster Mom, Denise. Here's
a direct update from Denise about what a
wonderful gal Sweet Gigi is:
Gigi is still learning new things every day, but
she loves the park, trips in the car, and trips
to Petco. She does
really well with other dogs, but is still
learning to adjust to men. Women, young girls,
she is fine with, but men make her stay at a
distance and bark until she can go by to the
ladies. We have figured out that Gigi must have
truly been hurt by a man and will recover from
that, but it will take time, patience, and a lot
of love. She is learning how to accept treats
gracefully, loves laying in the people bed,
eating ice cream every once in a great while,
and loves playing with stuffed animals. She is
great at listening and in the 2 months she has
been fostered by me, she has come a long way.
She still has a little weight to lose and
acceptance of men, but she will be a faithful,
loving, devoted companion. Please think about
her when you wish to adopt. |

Lulu,
aka Lucy the Goose, is a huggable red & white who is energetic and happy. She's
8 years young, with emphasis on the YOUNG. She's playful and would do well with
kids, since she has a young-at-heart attitude. She can still jump on the bed and
couch--no problemo! Beautiful manners when riding in the car and socializing at
the dog park. She loves going to the groomer (and the groomer loves her!), but
Lucy Goose says the world would be a better place if veterinarian offices were
banished from the face of the Earth! But she'll go--begrudgingly. She would
probably do best with either just one other dog--maybe a boyfriend that
she could bat her big eyelashes at? Or she could be the One and Only Supreme
Basset Princess in her forever home. An absolute must for Lulu is the large
nylon chew bones (Nylabones) and a rawhide--as she likes to keep her tooth ies
busy when you aren't giving her endless belly rubs. Please consider giving this
bodacious basset girl a place in your home and heart. Her adoption fee will be
$100. |

Mollie
is a very petite sized Basset girl--one of those pocket hounds that
will fit nicely on your lap and not take up much space on your couch--but will
fill up a big spot in your heart! She's approx. 6 years old, tri-colored. Take a
look at her beautifully marked left ear. Mollie is a little shy at first but
warms up quickly to new people. Please consider this deserving hound and let her
bring in the New Year with a devoted new family. Her adoption fee will be $150. |
|
Princess
is a little basset--only about 33 lbs., so she'll fit very
nicely on your lap. Princess is shy and unsure of what's
going on. She lost her home when her family moved and
couldn't take her. She needs someone to reassure her and
tell her that all will be okay. She's only 6 years old. If
you are the type that wants a little hound that you can
treat like a princess than this Princess is for you. All you
need to add is love mix generously with kindness--and you
have the recipe for a great companion. Her adoption fee is
$150. |
|
Lovey
lives up to her name--she's a love! She's friendly to
everyone and craves attention--a typical basset. We believe
that Lovey is about 7-8 years young and she's still a bouncy
hound. Lovey would enjoy car rides, walks when it's cool,
and visiting friends and neighbors with you. She needs a
home and someone to love---could that be you? Her adoption
fee will be $150. |
|
Sasha
is approx. 1 year old. She's a deep mahogany red and white
color with a dark, dusky face. Sasha is a little shy at
first, but warms up quickly. She absolutely loves romping
with other dogs, so she'd make a great playmate for another
active dog. Sasha is an expert climber and can leap tall
x-pens in a single bound! Her legs are a little longer than
a regular squatty basset, so she'd do well with some stairs.
In fact, with her penchant for scaling tall objects she'd
probably be a great hiking companion or up for a little
light jogging. Sasha is thin and light boned, she could use
a little fattening up. Since she's quite the little chow
hound, putting some weight on her will be no problem. Please
consider giving this little girl the second chance that she
deserves. Her adoption fee will be $250. |

Dixie
(Special Needs) is
a beautiful tri-color gal 8 years old who acts much younger.
She gets along well with other dogs and cats, and kids, too.
Dixie is a lovebug. After coming into rescue it was
determined that Dixie has Addison's Disease. Addison's is
treated with monthly injections of a drug called Percortin-V
and very low doses of prednisone daily. Basically Addison's
is where the adrenal gland is not producing enough essential
hormones to support the body. You can read more about
Addison's disease (it's symptoms, treatments, etc.) at the
support site
www.addisondogs.com Addison's is a fairly
expensive condition to treat--and we know this may be a
stumbling block to Dixie being adopted. The Percorten-V shot
is given approx. once a month and the cost is about $100 per
shot. Over time, the length between shots can usually be
stretched. One of our other Addison's dogs--Bennie (who's a
permanent foster with us now) has been living just fine with
Addison's for over 2 years now and we are able to stretch
his shots to two every 3 months or so. Dogs who get the
necessary treatment live very normal lives. Dixie has been
doing great in her foster home since her treatment started
and is a very happy girl. Donations to help with Dixie's
treatments are greatly appreciated. |

Keno
has been waiting far too long for a new home! She's beautiful,
well-mannered and only 4 years old. Won't you consider giving this hound with
the Vegas inspired name a Forever Home? Here is what her foster mom, Carole, has
to say about Miss Keno: "I call her Princess K. She is the sweetest dog, and
smart as a whip. The other dogs go and watch TV, K is always by my side, whether
it's the home office, watching TV, or getting ready for work. She only barks
when the doorbell on TV rings. She's just very sweet and very quiet. She's
particular about her treats, but loves ice cubes...bats them around and then
chews on them! She would be great for anyone, even an older person or couple, as
once she knows the routine she remembers it exactly. Keno rides well in the car,
loves the dog park and is very sociable. She gets along great with other dogs.
We do know from past experience she enjoys a little recreational cat chasing ,
so might be best in a home with no cats. She is not afraid of men, but is shy
around them at first. She gravitates towards women first, then sidles up to the
men! Keno is just an all-around great dog and anyone would be lucky to have
her." See, doesn't she sound great? Please put in an application if you'd like
to meet this sweet little gal. Her adoption fee is $150. |

Adoption Pending! Snowflake
is a lovely lass, almost all white with light brown
markings. She's just had a dental so has a pearly white, fresh
smile. Snowflake is a little shy upon first meeting but warms up
nicely once she knows she's safe in your arms. She gets along great
with both dogs and cats. At 7 years young, she's still young at
heart and needs a loving family to call her own. |

Adoption Pending!
Colleen is a beautiful red & white girl
with all of the freckles you'd expect to go with her coloring. We believe her
age to be between 3 and 4 yrs., and she has the house manners, intelligence and
temperament that show exactly why dogs this age are just about perfect for any
home. Colleen was found as a stray by a family that has had prior contact with
LVBR. They knew to call us for help. Despite our best efforts, we did not find
her owner and now hope to give Colleen a new forever home. She is currently
being fostered in a home with a young child and another dog, and she get along
famously with both. If you'd like to meet this lovely lass just in time for
Christmas, please put in an online application. Colleen's adoption fee will be
$150. |
