About LVBR and our Volunteers

The mission of Las Vegas Basset Rescue is to rescue, heal, and re-home Bassets in need. Our group formed in 1999. As our city has grown, the amount of Bassets coming into rescue has also steadily increased each year. Where do these homeless Bassets come from? They come from shelters or are relinquished to rescue by their owners under various circumstances. Some dogs have been found--but never reclaimed. They are young, old, and every age in-between. Each is deserving. All need a fresh start in life and the chance with a loving new family. Each dog is given needed medical care to make them ready for adoption. Dedicated foster families assess each dog's personality and needs so that they may be placed in the appropriate home. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, the dog comes back to our rescue. All of our rescues have so much love and devotion to share--they are the reason LVBR exists.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible.

If you are interested in volunteering in any way, please email us at info@rescuebassets.com  Together we can meet the growing needs of homeless Bassets in the Southern Nevada area

We have many devoted volunteers who work to better the lives of this wonderful breed. All have adopted one or more Bassets from LVBR. This organization runs on the strength of it's volunteers. We cherish them.
Kathleen Delaney is the President of Las Vegas Basset Rescue. She's the person you're likely to meet if you are adopting or relinquishing a Basset. Kathleen works hard to keep LVBR going strong.
Mary Calabray & Wayne Roewer are a devoted foster family and have helped many LVBR Bassets over the years. They are tireless in their fundraising efforts---everything from coordinating/hosting garage sales to gathering donated items for raffles and auctions.
Shari Aidukas and mom, Krista, have long been supporters of LVBR. They do everything from helping out at dog events to bringing in donations for our fundraisers. They are owned by their canines Woodrow (adopted from LVBR) and little Nugget. Photo courtesy of Pet'ographique.
Cindy Johnson has been a non-stop foster mom for LVBR for many years. Cindy is a busy teacher and mom, but always has time for one more foster. This in addition to her own 3 basset girls---Sassy, Jessie, and Olivia.

Sherman and Heather Rockow have been a faithful LVBR foster family for many, many years. They've helped many dogs become great canine citizens in preparation for their new home.
Kenneth & Belinda King are Pahrump residents who have been long-time fosters and volunteers--always ready to help a Basset in need when called upon.
Kristen Walker & Mike Horner provide "boot-camp" fostering to LVBR rescues who needed extra help with training or emotional issues, preparing them for a new home. They also provide their training advice free of charge to LVBR adopters. If you need their help please contact them at ikeyme@yahoo.com
Cher Bushelle is an all-around great volunteer. She and her husband, Will, haven't adopted a Basset from LVBR yet--but we'll keep working on it.
