About LVBR
Las Vegas Basset Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to rescue, heal, and rehome Bassets in need. LVBR formed in 1999 and as Las Vegas has grown, the number of Bassets coming into rescue has steadily increased. LVBR is an all volunteer organization with no paid staff. As of December 2009, LVBR has successfully rescued over 400 bassets.
Where do all the bassets come from?
They come from shelters or are relinquished to rescue by their owners under various circumstances. Some dogs have been found—but never reclaimed. They are young, old, and every age in between. Each is deserving. All need a fresh start in life and the chance with a loving new family. Each dog is given needed medical care to make them ready for adoption. Dedicated foster families assess each dog’s personality and needs so that they may be placed in the appropriate home. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, the dog comes back to our rescue. All of our rescues have so much love and devotion to share—they are the reason LVBR exists.
